There are around 200 active members of the parish church community. Attendances at Sunday services average around 100 and there is also a mid-week Eucharist.
The services held are at 8am Holy Communion (BCP), and at 10am the Parish Eucharist (CW).
The Wednesday service is held in the Lady Chapel this takes place at 10am (CW, with traditional wording).
Ocassionally there are additional services in the evenings and Songs of Praise services during the year as advertised.
The clergy often make visits to individual homes as well as to local residential and nursing homes.
Churchmanship would be best described as middle-of-the-road Anglican. Being such a popular place to retire it is not perhaps surprising that a significant proportion of the congregation is elderly though young families also form a welcome part of the regular attendance. There is a childrens area at the rear of the Church and sometimes the nearby Church Hall is used for the younger members of the congregation.
Members of the congregation volunteer to do readings from the bible and make the offertory and a rota is circulated to those taking part.
Refreshments are available in the Church hall after the 10am service, and there is regularly a 'Fair Trade' stall and an oppertunity to purchase greetings cards.
More information about the life of the Church community can be found in the St Michael's Parish News and the Golden Cap Team magazine which are published regularly and are available in the Church.
Each Sunday a pew sheet is produced containing details of the days services, a diary for the forthcoming week and current notices.
Every month there is a retiring collection for a particular charity.
